The first round of the 2017 MediaMatters program, the MatchMaking Days, got off to an energetic start. In the studio centre of the Media Park in Hilversum 14 startups from 8 countries and the 6 participating media companies gathered. The media companies presented themselves for the startups, and they in their turn introduced themselves in a short pitch.

From Monday May 22 till Wednesday 24, startups and media companies get to know each other better in a structured program. The startups are also prepped for the climax, their final pitch on Wednesday 24. The media companies will then decide if they want to work with one of them to work on a solution for a specific problem.
After a match has been made, MediaMatters had developed a guided program of 4 weeks in which a media company and startup work together. The ultimate goal is to come to a new service or product that helps the business of the media company. The solutions will be presented on the MediaMatters Demo Day on June 29.
